GREAT LAKES FANTASY FOOTBALL LEAGUES

The 2006 GLFFL Ultimate Challenge - Rules

Section I - General

1. There is no cost to join the GLFFL Ultimate Challenge League. These are the only requirements in order to participate:

  • Owner is a member of another GLFFL League
  • Owner is a registered member of the GLFFL Message Board -- http://glffl.ipbhost.com/index.php
  • Owner has agreed to provide fantasy-related news coverage for one of the NFL's 32 teams in the appropriate NFL Team Forum on the GLFFL's Message Board OR
  • Owner has agreed to provide fantasy-related news coverage and commentary for one of the following Message Board areas (Draft Advice, Late Breaking News, Trade Advice, Keeper League Discussion, Redraft League Discussion).
  • To maintain status as an active owner in the GLFFL Ultimate Challenge League, participants must remain active in their respective area on the GLFFL's Message Board.

2. The league will consist of an unlimited number of teams grouped in one conference.

3. All owners will be permitted to build a 14-man roster, provided the following minimum requirements have been met: 2 QB, 2 RB, 4 WR, 1 TE, 1 PK, 1 DF and 3 reserves of any position. The roster will be built by using the waiver button to select 14 players from the NFL's Active Player List. All teams in the Ultimate Challenge League will have access to the same pool of players from the Active Player List.

4. Owners may pick their 14 player rosters as soon as they have signed up for the Ultimate Challenge. They will do this by using the "Waiver" button on the left side under the standings and their team name on the right. Players may be dropped and added at any time leading up to the start of the regular season.

5. Once the regular season begins, owners are permitted ONE drop/add transaction each week. Drop/Add Transaction requests must be made through the web site, using the same "Waiver" button that was used to initially stock the roster, however during the season, the players will not be added until the system automatically processes all team requests. Drop/Add requests must be made between the start of the games for a given week and Thursday evening at 10:59 p.m. ET. The drop/add selections will remain hidden to the other owners until they are processed on Thursday night at 11 p.m. ET.

6. You can select ONE Free Agent per week. If adding a player or players will take you over the roster size or salary cap limits for this league, you will also need to designate the necessary players to be dropped that will keep you within these limits. Leaving the dropped player field blank will cause the following to happen - the system will SKIP OVER anyone who would be in violation of the roster size restrictions by adding a player.

7. Each week during the regular season, owners will need to submit a starting lineup consisting of: 1 QB, 1-2 RB, 3-4 WR, 1 TE, 1 PK and 1 DF. Standings will be figured on a total points basis using the starting lineup you submit each week.

8. You will be responsible for fielding a complete team during bye weeks. No carryover points will be awarded for position players or NFL teams.

9. Owners are permitted to submit the names of starting players up until the respective player's game time. Once a game has begun, all players participating in that game are either locked in as a starter or as a bench player. Lineups should be submitted through the league's web site.
