History: During the Erie League's first four years, a basic or performance scoring system was in place, as evidenced by the low point productions for the early Regular Season Points Scored Champions. Starting in 1994, Commissioner Kirk Pavelich made a change to the Combined Scoring Method (touchdowns + yards), a system that has been in place ever since. After the 1994 season, the Regular Season Points Scored Champion award was renamed the Bradley Rzyczycki award, in honor of the Erie League owner that had compiled the most single season points in history. A further stipulation was employed that would require the name of the award to be changed if any owner ever surpassed the 1,120 points scored by the 1994 Cosmic Monsters. The record was broken, and the name of the award changed, after the 1999 season when Bryan Vince's Psychedelic B's scored 1,162 points in just 12 games.
