QUOTES OF THE WEEK
"First, let me apologize to Vince. If you remember, I told you early on that he'd be on the bottom. I just didn't know that I'd be the one on top doing him. Don't worry -- I'll still buy your daughter a gift." Jody Barth, Kardiac Kids, talking smack to Psychedelic B's GM Bryan Vince, whom he defeated this week 75-65.
"Sam Profilow: You know I owned you through the regular season but I also know that I cannot beat a true champion three times. And hey, what the hell were you thinking when you told everybody in a quote that you squat over the fishbowl? I can just picture it now. You squatting over the fish bowl with your Flutie Flakes in one hand and the pictures of the other GM's in the other. Even when you beat me you're still gonna lose to one of the Rzyczycki brothers, errrr, Navajo Indians." Barth, taking shots at semi-final opponent Sam Profio and his Donikers club.
"Finally, Pav, who does this sound like? 'I can't handle the draft this year because I have to concentrate on drafting my players. Just try another strategy this year." Barth, taking a final shot at commissioner Kirk Pavelich and his fallen Midnight Vigilantes. You'll recall that Pavelich hired Joe Nunney to run this year's draft so that he could "concentrate" on his own team.
"The rest of the field should just pack it in. When you've got a talent like Randy Moss catching three touchdown passes a week you've got exactly what it takes to win the brass ring. I believe Jody Barth WILL be the next Erie League champion." Pavelich, making a final prediction on the chances of the remaining teams in the tournament.
