GREAT LAKES FANTASY FOOTBALL LEAGUES GLFFL Champions League Rules Section I - General 1. The Franchise Fee is $100.00. To qualify for the GLFFL Champions League, you must be a defending champion from a GLFFL fantasy football league during the previous season. 2. The league will consist of one (1) conference of 12 teams. 3. The initial draft will be held on-line. Teams will be formed in a draft that will be carried out in a format known as "3rd Round Reverse Serpentine" (1-12, 12-1, 12-1, 1-12, 12-1). The draft will be conducted via email. Teams have 12 hour time limits to make their selections. When a pick is missed, that owner has to get in contact with the commissioner ASAP in order to make a replacement pick. The longer he waits, the further down in the round his team will drop. The order for all initial drafts is decided randomly by the MyFantasyLeague commissioner software. 3rd Round Reverse Serpentine has been adopted by the National Fantasy Football Championship Leagues. It's an innovative way to balance the talent when drafting in a league. This league will feature the following draft format: Round 1: 1-12 Round 2: 12-1 Round 3: 12-1 Round 4: 1-12 Round 5: 12-1 Round 6: 1-12 Round 7: 12-1 Round 8: 1-12 Round 9: 12-1 Round 10: 1-12 Round 11: 12-1 Round 12: 1-12 Round 13: 12-1 Round 14: 1-12 Round 15: 12-1 Round 16: 1-12 Round 17: 12-1 Round 18: 1-12. Why Is 3RR Used? To balance out talent and draft positions throughout the draft, especially in those first few crucial rounds. 4. All teams must come out of the initial draft with the necessary components to field a starting lineup (i.e. a Quarterback, 1-2 Running Backs, 3-4 Wide Receivers, a Tight End, a Place Kicker and a Team Defense). Then, you must always maintain these minimum requirements throughout the regular and off-season (i.e. teams can't elect to go without a kicker, tight end, defense during the regular or off-season). 5. The regular season will consist of 11 weeks, with each team playing all other teams in the conference one time. Section II - Scoring 1. The decimal scoring method will be combined (basic + performance) with points awarded as follows:
2. Points for kickoff and punt returns for touchdowns will only be awarded to the NFL Team, not individual players. 3. Overtime Games: Tie games will be broken by using reserve players. Tie games will be broken using the same performance point system used by the rest of the players in the starting lineup. Section III - Trading and Transactions 1. The free agent system will be a “blind bidding” process. Each team will start with 1,000 free agent “dollars” for the season, and will be permitted to bid for free agents on a weekly basis. No team will be informed of any other team’s free agent bids until after the winning bids have been awarded. The team with the highest bid on any given player will be awarded that player. The amount of the winning bid will be deducted from the winning team’s free agent dollars. For each winning bid, the winning team must drop a player to make roster room for the free agent acquisition. If a team’s free agent dollars go to zero, that team will no longer be allowed to bid for the rest of the season. No bid will be accepted that is larger than a team's free agent dollars. All bids must be in increments of dollars (no cents). 2. PLEASE NOTE -- Leaving the dropped player field blank will cause the following to happen - the system will SKIP OVER anyone who would be in violation of the roster size restrictions by adding a player. You could have the highest bid on that player but you WILL NOT get your player if you fail to designate a drop at the same time. 3. The bidding process starts after the completion of Week 1 and ends with the transaction period prior to Week 12. Bids will be accepted until Friday at 10:59 pm ET in each of these weeks. You can select an unlimited number of Free Agents per week but you will need to drop a player for every potential player you add. There will be no free agent pickups after the completion of the regular season. 4. Conditional bids can also be offered. In the event you may lose out on a player, you can place conditional bid(s) for other players during the bidding time frame. The first conditional bid will become relevant only if you lose out on the first bid. Subsequent conditional bids will become relevant only if the previous conditional bid fails. Bids do not require conditional bids. Bids may have several sequential conditional bids, but may not include bidding on the same player more than once. 5. Tied Bids: If there is a tie in the blind bidding process, the team that receives the player will be determined in order by:
6. To minimize the possibility of collusion, there will be no trading allowed. 7. Owners are permitted to submit the names of starting players up until the respective player's game time. Once a game has begun, all players participating in that game are either locked in as a starter or as a bench player. Lineups should be submitted through the league's web site. 8. You will be responsible for fielding a complete team during bye weeks. No carryover points will be awarded for position players or NFL teams.
1. All teams will play an 11 week regular season schedule, meaning they will face each conference opponent one time. 2. In order to determine playoff seedings, the following tiebreaker system will be used:
2. Ten (10) of the twelve teams will qualify for the playoffs. In Week 12, the 9th and 10th seeds will face off, as well as the 7th and 8th seeds. Teams seeded 1 through 6 will receive a bye during week #12 of the NFL season. 3. The lowest advancing seed will play the 5th seed while the other team to advance will play the 6th seed. Teams seeded 1 through 4 will receive a bye during week #13 of the NFL season. 4. The lowest advancing seed will play the 3rd seed while the other team to advance will play the 4th seed. Teams seeded 1 and 2 will receive a bye during week #14 of the NFL season. 5. The lowest advancing seed will play the 1st seed while the other team to advance will play the 2nd seed. This action will take place during week #15 of the NFL season. 6. The winners will square off for the championship. This action will take place on week #16 of the NFL season. The league champion receives $850 and a Premium Trophy Cup (see photo at top right) from our friends at Affordable Trophies (www.fantasysportsawards.com). GLFFL is not responsible for the taxes on the prizes of the winner. Section V - Miscellaneous Items 1. All lineups must consist of a Quarterback, 1-2 Running Backs, 3-4 Wide Receivers, a Tight End, a Place Kicker and a Team Defense. 2. Rosters will consist of a maximum of 18 players. The nine (9) reserves on your roster may consist of any number of quarterbacks, running backs, receivers, kickers, or NFL teams. It is your responsibility to maintain your roster at all times. If a team goes over the 18 spots (by free agent pickup or trade) the transaction or transactions will not be processed for that week. 3. The act of "throwing games" (losing on purpose by turning in a lineup filled of players that normally would not play) is not tolerated in the Great Lakes Fantasy Football Leagues. We will revert your starting lineup back to a typical lineup for games that are tried to be thrown and further action will also take place (i.e. possible removal from the league without refund). In every instance
where a team has found to intentionally lose a game by submitting a
bogus lineup, that owner will immediately be REMOVED from the league in
question. When other instances arise, teams will be REMOVED the moment
the indiscretions are discovered, whether they happened this year or in
a previous year. 4. Conduct that is deemed detrimental to the league or to the GLFFL will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, posts and or emails that are harassing in nature and serve no legitimate purpose other than to cause discord within the league or the GLFFL organization. There is a difference between expressing viewpoints or likes/dislikes of a league or format and personal attacks toward fellow owners, the commissioner or the Board of Directors. Failure to comply may result in IMMEDIATE EXPULSION WITHOUT REFUND. In addition, attempts to negatively impact the integrity of the league (i.e. threatening or outright refusal to submit lineups, partaking in bogus trades, etc.) will result in an immediate expulsion, without refund, from the GLFFL. © Copyright 2009 Great Lakes Fantasy Football Leagues.
